Save The Books (III) BRAINWAVE: Bible Must Burn?

16/03/09

It just occurred to me that at least some pre-1984 editions of the following book must be affected:

The Bible

And I guess probably the U.S. Constitution, and the holy books of various other religions.

You see my point. So… Does anyone know of a stockpile of lead-based children’s Bibles? Because if they’re going to have to be destroyed, I really, really want to see footage of it. But somehow, I don’t see it actually happening, do you?

[Update: Reader's Loft on the Gutenberg Bible in the Library of Congress. And that raises another interesting question: is the Library of Congress immune to this legislation? Are copyright libraries?]

While I believe it is only a matter of time before the consumer protection and litigation oriented groups that pushed this bill through (PIRG, Public Citizen, etc) demand that adult books be banned as well, currently, only books intended primarily for children 12 and under and not allowed to be sold sans testing. Therefore, the Bible is fine. For now. The Bible story books…. not so much.
