Dear Nick

I just finished reading The Gone Away World and thought it was pretty fucking great.

I went and saw watchmen the other night and took some magic mushrooms ahead of time. While watching the film, I got very immersed and felt that the watchmen reality was the “real” reality. Then i would shake my head and remind myself “J, you’re high. The real world is not filled with superheroes and on the brink of  nuclear destruction. There is a far more destructive weapon out there that has already been used to make the wold partially go away and now you live near the pipe and fear ninjas.”

So you see, your book got right into my head. 

That’s quite an accomplishment.

    Mike – I get a couple of messages per day maybe which are from people who like the book. This is my first ever Watchmen/TGAW/psychoactive chemical/metaphysical-ontological confusion email…

    I’m not sure whether publishing has really taken demographics on in the way that other media have. I’m still probing that question.

    Monk – oh, hell, no, you did not put that idea in my brain.
