This morning, before I really had my brain stoked up and just after Mrs H had left the building for another day of trying to get our beloved government to bestir itself against torture and violations of international law, I found myself chatting to Foz Meadows. Foz – aside from having actually lost a job partly in consequence of reading The Gone-Away World, thus winning herself some kind of Harkawegian Order of Bravery – turns out to be a collector of interwebnological magnificence.
She has introduced me to Sinfest, which is one of the most enjoyably silly and trenchant political cartoons I’ve come across in a long time. She also used the word spruik, which I had not heard.
A few quick favourites from Sinfest:
- on the financial crisis;
- on adventurism;
- with apologies to Superman;
- and this blinder which may or may not be funny, but which I love.
Sinfest also contrived to remind me of the amazing Looking For Group, which I seem to have managed not to mention in this occasional journal yet. LFG is a geek’s heaven. It’s wry, cheeky, ludicrous, and occasionally excellent. For Pony!
